Peer Review

"Don't Fear the Peer Review"

The selection of your Peer Reviewer is critical to receiving the full benefit of your peer review. Ideally, you want to match your Peer Reviewer's experience to your firm's experience for maximum efficiency and insite. At Walsh & Company, PC, our goal is to provide our peer review clients with an efficient and cost-effective Peer Review that enhances your firm's quality control and overall audit practice success.

Karen Welch, CPA is our peer review team captain and is Vice Chair of the Peer Review Acceptance Board for the Michigan Association of CPA's (appointed Chairman for 2017-2019 term) which reviews for acceptance reports submitted by peer reviewers for consistancy and conformity with the Standards for Performing and Reporting on Peer Reviews. In 2016, Karen was appointed to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Peer Review Board and the AICPA Education Task Force. Karen speaks at Michigan CPA Chapters and conferences throughout Michigan regarding various peer review issues.

Through this extensive involvement with the peer review process, comes added value to the peer reviews of other CPA firms. In addition to the formal peer review process, our philosophy is to informally pass on tips or suggestions for audit efficiency and audit documentation/techniques which result in revenue enhancement and cost savings.
